Digitization of physical retail

1 Jul, 2024

During the fall, Navigator and ITAB began working closely together. The first project has been to position ITAB's offering in Retail Technology, where the company has several market-leading solutions and, not least, for some time now, its own software platform that connects the products and makes it possible to draw conclusions and make analyzes based on data.

Consumer behavior is changing

Few industries have experienced as much change in recent years as retail. Changing consumer behavior and expectations of convenience and choice have driven the transformation towards a seamless experience where the physical and digital environment are interwoven. At the same time, new challenges have emerged in the form of new competitors, channels and business models. It is not easy for a retailer to stay relevant.

ITAB creates strong in-store experiences

Success requires insights into consumer needs and solutions that help bridge the gap between digital and physical retail environments. ITAB is one of the most experienced players in the market, with operations in 24 countries, 15 production facilities, more than 2,800 employees and a turnover (2022) of almost SEK 7 billion.

ITAB creates in-store experiences that meet consumer demands for an enhanced customer experience in the physical store while bridging the gap between digital and physical environments. By designing the entire customer journey with engaging store design, lighting solutions and technologies that influence consumer behavior, ITAB helps retailers increase sales, improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Digitalization part of the offer

Main customer groups include grocery, construction and home furnishings, fashion, consumer electronics, cafes and fuel stations and pharmacies, as well as health and beauty. Examples of customers include, for us in Sweden, well-known brands such as H&M, Circle K, Clas Ohlson and ICA.

"We improve the experience and efficiency in the stores, contributing to increased sales and reduced waste," describes Andréas Elgaard, President and CEO, ITAB Shop Concept AB. "With OnRed, our own unique technology platform that connects ITAB's portfolio of digital and physical solutions, we will further optimize that work."

ITAB offers a market-leading portfolio of digital and physical technology solutions, from self-service counters, checkout counters, in-store guidance to automatic gates and visual theft surveillance to name a few products. All of these can now be linked together using ITAB's new unified software platform, OnRed. This means that the solutions can be connected, updated and maintained through the platform, and through advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence integrated into ITAB's solutions, for example, service can be improved or the store layout optimized.

Positioning in Retail Technology

In connection with the launch of OnRed, ITAB turned to Navigator to help position its Retail Technology offering. Navigator has now helped to develop a communication platform and a communication concept for the portfolio.
