Say hello to Evelina—our new digital specialist
In May, Evelina Sramel joined us at Navigator as our new digital specialist. With experience in both the agency and in-house worlds, she brings a passion for analysis and data—and a keen curiosity about the entire communications process. She’s also currently training for the Malmö Marathon this fall. Get to know her a little better here!
How did you end up in the communications industry?
I’ve always been creative, but at first I wasn’t sure if that was the path I wanted to take. After graduating from high school, I moved to Australia to study tourism, and after that I spent a season in the Alps, where my responsibilities included managing the travel company’s social media. That experience left me wanting more, which led me to later begin studying digital marketing at the Media Institute.
Where have you worked before?
I’ve had the opportunity to work both in-house and at an agency, which has given me a broad understanding of the industry. Previously, I worked in-house at a food startup and at a large automotive company, and most recently, I worked as a consultant at an agency. Seeing communications work from different perspectives has been incredibly rewarding.
What is the best thing about working in digital marketing?
Things are always happening—for better or for worse. Programs and trends can change overnight, and as a digital marketer, you have to stay up to date all the time, which I actually enjoy. I try to stay current by subscribing to newsletters and listening to various podcasts.
What is exciting about the Navigator?
I’ve mainly worked in large organizations in the past, and I really appreciate the close-knit, family-like team at Navigator. Even though I’m a specialist in a fairly niche field, I still get the chance to be involved in the entire communication process and get closely involved in the conceptual work—and I really like that.
Do you do anything exciting in your spare time?
I used to ride a lot when I was little, and I’ve recently taken it up again after a long break. Every week, I go riding with a group of other women, which is a great way to unwind and clear my head for a while. Besides that, I also enjoy running—right now, I’m training for the Malmö Marathon this fall.
